The current pace of life has people on the verge of nervous collapse. In recent years, it has become a trend to look for new ways to develop and consolidate healthy habits to improve the quality of life of the contemporary adult. It is a gradual process that has given rise to the popularization of lifestyle and wellness coaches or coaches, who are in charge of teaching people how to be the best version of themselves.
One of these specialists is Valeria Lozano, wellness coach and founder of Grupo Hábitos, who has spent six years sharing with her audience the health recommendations that have worked best for her life. “We are all moving forward and evolving: at the beginning it is how I drink a juice, then how I leave the animal protein, then how do I fast intermittently and now is how I control my emotions so they do not manifest in my behavioral habits,” he explains in an interview on the personal path towards a more harmonious life feng-shui.
To take the first steps toward a better life, here are five recommendations from Valeria Lozano to develop healthy habits.
1. Include juices in your diet
One of Valeria Lozano’s recommendations for maintaining a healthy diet involves all the ways in which vegetables and other ingredients can become healthy juices. “While they are made with vegetables, all the juices are good,” he says, highlighting the benefits of these combinations in contrast to the fruit juices, which carry more sugars.
Lozano proposes a very basic green juice that can be made in extractor: cucumber, celery, lemon, cabbage and some other vegetables such as celery or carrot. “It’s not that slow to do and it’s a great way to start the day.”
Although will power is important to achieve the objectives set, such as the consolidation of food, health or emotional habits, it is not the only way to achieve it. “The truth is that we have many beliefs and unconscious patterns that make us make decisions that we believe we can control but it is not,” he explains. “The more we inform ourselves about what we want to change, it will be much easier. When someone fills up information it is easier to make conscious decisions. “
Another way to help oneself take a more consistent path in terms of healthy habits is introspection. A tool to achieve this is meditation. “The roads are never straight, we all have mistakes and slips because life is like that … life are nuances,” reflects Valeria, who believes that sometimes good habits seem impossible because the obstacles do not come consciously.
“We have to realize that when we try to fill gaps with other things, such as food, cigarettes, and alcohol or watch a lot of TV, there is another food that is not eaten and that we have to look for,” he says. “It’s where meditation is an excellent tool.”
4. Change the focus
The blunders often take away the motivation of people: you cheated on the diet, you went back to smoking, you were overpowered and you drank too much beer at that party. For Valeria Lozano, the important thing is not so much the error, but the way to solve it. “We should not feel guilty because that increases anxiety, self-destructive behavior,” says Lozano. “We have to realize that it is normal, that life is like that and the important thing is not when you water it, but when you start over”.
She suggests changing the focus to get back on track. “It is better to applaud ourselves for retaking it than to punish us for having left it,” he adds. “That change of focus can help us to be a permanent and not temporary solution.”
5. Doing something for others
Valeria did not start Habits as a blog to directly help other people. He simply wanted to share with someone what had worked for him personally. However, over the years it has materialized a vocation that combines its interest in health and welfare issues with the possibility of contributing to social harmony.
That each person is in harmony with themselves helps the community to evolve: “We are all moving forward in terms of awareness and habits, which go from food to emotional and mental,” he adds. “Always the premise is how to be better, how to increase my well-being or be well and that is what we try to solve”.
